Busier and blessed!
We had a terrific time this last week! One day we decided to go try to pass out more flyers in downtown Lockhart, and saw a marque for the Chamber of Commerce that had posters of upcoming events. We decided we'd go to the Chamber of Commerce and ask their opinions on who to contact. The lady there was very helpful and one place she directed us was to 4:12 Kids, a non-profit Christian organization. So we went there and they were very excited to help out. Charity is the lady in charge at the 4:12, and her name matches her very well. She took our flyers and then asked if we wanted to participate in their annual Easter Egg Hunt event, where we could set up a booth and let others know what we were doing.
Well, of course we said yes, so had 1 1/2 days to come up with a table and chairs, some more handouts, etc. If we were to do this again, we know a bit more what to prepare for (games, prizes, etc.), but we got to talk to lots of people, and even though we weren't proselyting, we did have copies of The Book of Mormon available, and gave one away! We got to show the Easter video to a few people, and they were really touched. Several were very interested in the English classes, and one person took a card because she was "maybe interested in being a volunteer ," which we also were advertising for. It was a well spent 4 hours on Saturday!
The Texas Bluebonnets are still out, but now what is coming out as well are the Red Bonnets. Oh my, they are so pretty! And sometimes there are whole fields of them. On the way to Gonzales one day we saw a place that was being mowed, but the field had lots of red bonnets... I was sad that they were going to get chopped down, but I had no need to fear! The mower stealthily mowed around the patches of red bonnets! Yay! One field near us is covered in tiny yellow flowers and even tinier white flowers, and kind of mixed in everywhere are beautiful pink Primroses. Super fun! The trees are all lime green now, with their shiny new leaves! It's amazing are different everything looks from just 3 weeks ago!
