March passed so quickly!

We have been busy.... am I saying this too much?  Maybe, but every week we seem to be a little more busy!  For instance, today we had a meeting in Lockhart at 10:00, (we walked the 1 1/2 miles), then had an appointment in Gonzales at 2:00 (40 minute drive), then after that we went to the Luling library (20 minute drive) to see their genealogical society section.  Then we went from there to Cedar Creek (35 minute drive), then back to Lockhart (35 minutes) to go to the chapel there for Family History instruction.  During the drives we reviewed lessons, and we were able to eat breakfast and lunch at home.  About 2 hours 10 minutes in the car in one day.  Whew!  What a day! (But not too unusual.)  It's nice now to relax for a little while.  Tomorrow we will drive to the other side of Austin for Zone Conference, then in the evening we will be back in Gonzales for a dinner appointment and our English class.

Spring has definitely come to Central Texas!  Just two weeks ago a few trees had beautiful pink flowers coming out, and now pretty much all of the trees are starting to show their beautiful new leaves.  The wildflowers are blossoming, the trees are starting to green up and the weather is warm!  We think we have worn our coats for the last time this season.  Here's hoping!

Of the many flowers we have seen is the Texas Bluebonnet!  We don't see very many close to us, but as we drive out on the country roads there are plenty!  Super fun to see. We'll get to see them for about another month.  Wish it was all summer. :-)  We took pictures of some that are by the Lockhart cemetery.   Pictures are coming asap.

Besides driving (ha ha!) much of our time in the apartment is spent preparing lessons, especially for the English class.  We are trying to get all 25 lessons for the first level of English Connect as PowerPoint presentations that we will be able to share with the mission.  Just in the month we've been teaching we've seen ways that we could teach better.  I say "we", but it is mostly Elder Bell who does the teaching.  I prep what I can for him, then he morphs it into a great lesson.

We've been able to help a couple of people with Family History but, not unexpectedly, it is starting slow.  We are available to help at certain hours, and sometimes people come, but usually not.  We get a lot done on indexing, planning lessons, etc., when that happens.  I think as more people become aware that we are here, we will have more participants.  Especially after we start at the library in 2 1/2 weeks. Come mid April we will be teaching English classes and helping with Family History 3 evenings a week. AND one person wants to learn, but is not available on the weekdays, so we may be helping him on Saturdays.

We were in the newspaper!  This one is from Lockhart.  The Gonzales newspaper comes out tomorrow.  We're supposed to be in that as well!

Okay, picture time!   Oh.... my best photos are in my camera.... I'll have to post them later!

This was a few days after a BIG rain!  Lovely yellow fields!

I love the pink tree against the new green leaves!

We have enjoyed all the birds here!
